1

Day 1 – Welcome to the Highlands of Madagascar

Welcome to Madagascar! Upon arrival, your private Madagascar tour with a local guide begins as your personal driver welcomes you at the airport and escorts you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a relaxed dinner or simply rest after your flight. This first evening is dedicated to gently settling in and easing into the rhythm of Malagasy life — the perfect introduction to your tailor-made Madagascar trip.

Day 2 – Journey Into the Eastern Rainforest

After breakfast, you depart the capital and travel east toward Andasibe. Along the way, you discover the landscapes of rural Madagascar: terraced rice fields, small villages, eucalyptus forests, and colorful roadside markets. You arrive around midday and settle into your lodge, surrounded by lush nature. After nightfall, a local guide leads a nocturnal walk where you may encounter chameleons, frogs, insects, and your first nocturnal lemurs — an early taste of immersive travel in Madagascar.

3

Day 3 – Immersion in Andasibe’s Lush Forests

Today is devoted to deep rainforest exploration. In the morning, you visit the Analamazaotra Reserve, where the powerful calls of the Indri Indri resonate through the canopy. With your private guide, you observe lemurs, endemic birds, orchids, and medicinal plants. In the afternoon, you continue to the Vakona Reserve and its famous Lemur Island, where several species can be seen at close range in a respectful setting. The day ends with a peaceful evening at your lodge, surrounded by the sounds of the forest.

Day 4 – Crossing the Pangalanes Canal to Ankanin’ny Nofy

After breakfast, you drive to Manambato and board a private boat to cross the tranquil Pangalanes Canal. This scenic journey reveals palm-lined shores, fishing villages, and daily life unfolding along the water. You arrive in Ankanin’ny Nofy, meaning “The Nest of Dreams,” a serene peninsula nestled between lake and ocean. The rest of the day is free to relax, walk, or simply enjoy the calm atmosphere — a beautiful expression of slow travel in Madagascar.

5

Day 5 – Lemur Encounters & Night Search for the Aye-Aye

In the morning, you explore the Palmarium Reserve, renowned for its freely roaming lemurs and rich tropical vegetation. It is one of the best places to observe multiple lemur species in a natural and ethical environment. After dinner, you head out by boat for a rare nighttime excursion in search of the elusive Aye-Aye — a truly unique wildlife encounter and a highlight of this authentic Madagascar travel experience.

6

Day 6 – From the Pangalanes to the Peaceful Lakes of Mantasoa

You return by boat to Manambato and continue your journey inland toward Mantasoa. The landscape gradually changes to pine forests, rolling hills, and peaceful lakes. This tranquil region offers the perfect setting to slow down and reflect at the end of your journey. Enjoy a canoe ride, a lakeside walk, or simply take in the serenity of this hidden corner of Madagascar.

7

Day 7 – Return to Antananarivo & Departure

After breakfast, you drive back to Antananarivo. Depending on your flight schedule, you may enjoy a final meal, a short city visit, or time at a local craft market for last souvenirs. Your driver then transfers you to the airport, bringing your journey to an end — leaving you with lasting memories of Madagascar’s rainforests, wildlife, waterways, and gentle pace of travel.
